ONTARIO JUDICIAL APPOINTMENT ANNOUNCED

OTTAWA, March 2, 2012 – The Honourable Rob Nicholson, P.C., Q.C., M.P. for Niagara Falls, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, today announced the following appointment:

The Honourable Dale F. Fitzpatrick, a partner with the firm Furlong Collins Fitzpatrick, is appointed a judge of the Superior Court of Justice in Milton, to replace Mr. Justice A.J. Goodman, who was transferred to London to replace Mr. Justice T.D. Little, who passed away on December 15, 2011.

Mr. Justice Fitzpatrick received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Western Ontario in 1990 and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Windsor in 1993. He was admitted to the Bar of Ontario in 1995.

Mr. Justice Fitzpatrick has been a partner with Furlong Collins Fitzpatrick since 1999. He was an associate with Robert Anagnostopoulis Law Offices in Waterloo from 1995 to 1999 and with Kearns McKinnon (now Miller Thomson) in Guelph from 1993 to 1994. His main areas of practice were family law, and civil and criminal litigation.

Mr. Justice Fitzpatrick has been a member of the Halton County Law Association since 1995. Since 2007, he has been with the Lawyer Mentoring Program of the Law Society of Upper Canada and Milton District High School. He has been a volunteer with the Canadian Mental Health Association in Milton since 2005. He was a member of the Optimist Club and a coach for Milton Minor Hockey and the Milton Minor Baseball Association.

This appointment is effective immediately.
