What can you expect as a clerk or administrative assistant at the Department of Justice Canada?
The Department of Justice Canada is involved in virtually every area of law, across the country, and within some 40 federal departments and agencies. We are responsible for all litigation by or against the government and support the Attorney General as the Chief Law Officer of the Crown. The clerks and administrative assistants are key to contribute to the fulfillment of Justice Canada’s mandate, via their support in all areas, such as HR, Finance, Procurement, IT, Communications, etc.

Under the guidance of a professional from one of the various area of expertise, clerks and administrative assistants perform a variety of tasks in different areas of specialization, including data entry, compiling documents, organizing the daily administration of an office, scheduling meetings, making travel arrangements for senior officials, paying invoices, managing client calls, submitting HR documents, drafting job offers or procedures, researching, creating files, providing trial assistance, dealing with clients, organizing information from clients, governmental or other institutions, etc.
