High Conflict Family Case Conferencing

Type of service
Family Court Services

Services offered
Services provided include family case conferencing and mediation for parents experiencing high levels of conflict, who are seeking resolution to child custody or access issues through the courts. These parents typically have had numerous applications to the courts.

Parents in the program attend a High Conflict Case Conference with a Family Law Judge, their legal counsel and a mediator. The parents are then ordered by the court to attend up to four mediation sessions to work through child custody and child access conflict and to develop a parenting plan. At the conference the judge outlines the expectations of the parents regarding attendance and participation in the mediation sessions.
