This is a stacked vertical bar chart that illustrates the number of legal aid applications by type from 1999 to April 2002.
The Y axis represents the number of applications. It is measured in numbers and in increments of 100 starting from 0 to 700.
The X axis represents the years and type of legal aid applications. The following years are listed from left to right: 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2002. Four types of legal aid applications are classified. They are Youth, Family Law, Criminal and Civil.
- In 1999, approximately 175 applications for criminal legal aid were made. In the same year about 125 applications were made under the family law category and a very small number of applications were made under the youth category.
- In 2000, approximately 300 applications were for criminal legal aid, about 175 applications were for the family law category and very small number of applications was made under the youth and civil categories.
- In 2001, approximately 400 applications were for criminal legal aid, about 200 applications were for the family law category and very small number of applications was made under the youth and civil categories.
- In 2002, approximately 100 applications were for criminal legal aid, and about 50 applications were for the family law category.
