- the youth attended a substance abuse program –increase sentence 15%, stay the same 44% and decrease sentence 41%;
- it’s the youth’s first offence –increase sentence 11%, stay the same 51% and decrease sentence 38%;
- the youth was abused by his/her parents – increase sentence 9%, stay the same 57% and decrease sentence 34%;
- the youth spent time in jail waiting for his/her trial – increase sentence 14%, stay the same 57% and decrease sentence 29%;
- the youth committed the crime with his/her parents – increase sentence 39%, stay the same 38% and decrease sentence 23%;
- the youth is homeless – increase sentence 12%, stay the same 66% and decrease sentence 23%;
- the youth pled guilty – increase sentence 14%, stay the same 63% and decrease sentence 23%;
- the youth is young and immature – increase sentence 15%, stay the same 64% and decrease sentence 21%;
- the youth has a drug addiction – increase sentence 36%, stay the same 54% and decrease sentence 10%;
- the crime is common in the community – increase sentence 42%, stay the same 53% and decrease sentence 5%;
- the crime involved violence – increase sentence 84%, stay the same 14% and decrease sentence 2%.
The X-axis is measured in percentages in increments of 10 from 0 to 100.
