This is a horizontal bar chart which illustrates the percentage of Aboriginal youth in custody by province/territory.
The X axis is measured in percentages and increases in increments of 5 from 0 to 25.
The Y axis is divided by 13 categories (provinces), from top to bottom: Newfoundland, Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia, Yukon, Northwest Territories and Nunavut.
On Snapshot day:
- 24% of Aboriginal youth were in custody in Ontario
- 23% of Aboriginal youth were in custody in Saskatchewan
- 23% of Aboriginal youth were in custody in Manitoba
- 15% of Aboriginal youth were in custody in Alberta
- 8% of Aboriginal youth were in custody in British Columbia
- 7% of Aboriginal youth were in custody in Northwest Territories
- 2% of Aboriginal youth were in custody in Quebec
- 1% or less of Aboriginal youth were in custody in Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, Yukon and Nunavut
