This is a vertical bar chart which illustrates the percentage of the most serious offences attributed to Manitoba Aboriginal youth in open or secure custody on snapshot day.
This bar chart is divided into five categories, which stand for each type of offence. The two categories are as follows: “Person”, “Property”, “drugs”, “other CC” and “federal/provincial statutes”. Each category is further divided into two categories, from left to right: “open” and “secure”.
- 32% of Manitoba Aboriginal youth in open custody and 37% in secure custody committed a persons offence
- 50% of Manitoba Aboriginal youth in both open and secure custody committed a property offence
- 0% of Manitoba Aboriginal youth in open custody and 3% in secure custody committed a Drugs offence
- 17% of Manitoba Aboriginal youth in open custody and 9% in secure custody committed an other Criminal Code offence
- 2% of Manitoba Aboriginal youth in open custody and 0% in secure custody committed an other Federal/Provincial statute offence
