Chapter 10 - Territories

10.1 Introduction

In some jurisdictions, the number of Aboriginal youth in custody on Snapshot day was small, thereby making it difficult to analyse the data. For instance, the Yukon , Northwest Territories , and Nunavut accounted for nine percent of the total number of Aboriginal youth in custody across Canada on Snapshot day (7% from the Northwest Territories ). Therefore, for the purpose of data analysis, these jurisdictions were combined as the Territories.
