Safe Communities

Ensuring that individuals, families and communities in Canada are safe is a core outcome of the youth criminal justice system, which can be achieved through crime prevention and intervention. This outcome is measured by crime severity, police-reported crime, self-reported victimization, self-reported abuse during childhood, witnessing family violence during childhood, and perception of personal safety.
