Confidence in the System

Ensuring that Canadians understand the role of and express confidence in the youth criminal justice system is a core outcome of the youth criminal justice system. Research shows that Canadians are more likely to express confidence in the criminal justice system if they increase their awareness and understanding of the criminal justice system through public legal education or media. This outcome is measured by public awareness of the role of the Youth Criminal Justice System Act, youth confidence in and the perception of the various stages of the criminal justice system, and by their willingness to report crime.
