This is a horizontal bar chart which illustrates the types of facilities in which Ontario Aboriginal youth were registered on Snapshot day.
The X axis is measured in percentages and increases in increments of 10 from 0 to 70.
The Y axis is divided by 7 categories (facility types), from top to bottom: secure/open custody centre, foster/community home, group home, community residential centre, treatment centre, child care establishment and forest/wilderness.
- 59% of Ontario Region Aboriginal youth were registered in a secure/open and detention/custody centre
- 14%% of Ontario Region Aboriginal youth were registered in a foster/community home
- 14% of Ontario Region Aboriginal youth were registered in a group home
- 8% of Ontario Region Aboriginal youth were registered in a community residential center
- 3% of Ontario Region Aboriginal youth were registered in a treatment centre
- 1% of Ontario Region Aboriginal youth were registered in a child care establishment
- 1% of Ontario Region Aboriginal youth lived in the forest/wilderness
