Figure 5 illustrates the rates per 100,000 of homicide and attempted murder between 1994 and 1998.
The x axis represents the years, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997 and 1998. Each category is divided into 2 sub-categories, “homicide rate” and “attempted murder”.
The y axis represents the rate per 100,000 ranging between 0 and 3.5 in increments of .5.
- In 1994, the homicide rate was about per 2.1 100,000 and the attempted murder rate was about 3.3 per 100,000.
- In 1995, the homicide rate was about 2.0 per 100,000 and the attempted murder rate was about 3.3 per 100,000.
- In 1996, the homicide rate was about 2.1 per 100,000 and the attempted murder rate was about 3.0 per 100,000.
- In 1997, the homicide rate was about 2.0 per 100,000 and the attempted murder rate was about 2.9 per 100,000.
- In 1998, the homicide rate was about 1.8 per 100,000 and the attempted murder rate was about 2.4 per 100,000.
