Victims of predatory crimes can be an individual, an institution or the public sector. Examples of predatory-crimes include payment card fraud, bank fraud and currency counterfeiting. Market based crimes can be further subdivided into three type of invasion, evasion of taxes (for example smuggling CFCs), evasion of regulations (which includes crimes affecting terms, persons or quotas) and prohibition evasion (of stolen goods or prohibited goods and services). Finally, commercial crimes can include three types: fraud against suppliers (for example, fraudulent bankruptcy), deception against customers (for example, telemarketing scams) or externalization of costs at the expense of the society (for example, dumping toxic waste).
