Graph 7.0 shows the proportion of peace bond issuances and breaches by province and territory for the year 1999/2000. The number of breaches is related to the number of Criminal Code section 811 convictions relative to an 810 issuance. Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland/Labrador have a higher proportion of breaches (approx. 30% and 35% respectively). The remaining provinces/territories (Nova Scotia, Quebec, Ontario, Saskatchewan, Alberta, Yukon and Nunavut) have a proportion of breaches varying between 2% (Nova Scotia) and 11% (Alberta). The national rate of peace bond breaches is around 4%.
