Table 2 presents the most common problems as identified by inmates. Administrative problems were often identified by a bigger proportion of inmates: Serious disciplinary offences (75%), involuntary transfer/request for administrative segregation (66%), parole (60%), suspension, termination and revocation of parole or statutory release (57%), detention during period of statutory release (57%), urinalysis demands (54%) and suspension, arrest and charges regarding long-term orders (42%). Family matters are a problem for 70% of respondents. Concerning criminal matters, 60% of respondents identified appeal of convictions or sentences, 45% had problems related to a new unresolved criminal charge and 36% related to faint hope applications. Some respondents identified problems related to immigration matters: Immigration, deportation or refugee matters (30%) and extradition (26%). 30% of respondents had problems related to civil suits and 15% with property law. Finally, only few respondents identified «assistance in complaining to the correctional investigator» (8%) as a problem.
