How the review was conducted
This report is currently under review.
This review outlines several forensic interview protocols, exploring the effectiveness of information collection, best practices, challenges, and considerations for interviewing vulnerable victims. Information was gathered from academic articles, websites, and handbooks outlining forensic interviewing strategies.
Literature searches were conducted through publicly available online databases and institutional access to online journals including PSYCINFO, ProQuest, Sociological Abstracts, and Hein Online. Search terms included “forensic interviewing”, “investigative interviewing”, “cognitive interviewing”, “child forensic interviews” “forensic experiential trauma interview”, “FETI”, “trauma informed interviewing”, “victim centered interviewing”, and “visual communication desensitization.” Additional studies and literature were obtained through recommendations from colleagues in the Research and Statistics Division and snowball searching through references of relevant literature.
