Information Sharing Agreements

Contracts, Information Sharing Agreements and Information Sharing Arrangements (ISAs) are used by the Department of Justice Canada to govern the exchange of information with federal, provincial, territorial, Indigenous, and other partners. They establish the purpose and legal authority for information sharing, as well as the privacy, security, and accountability requirements that apply to the collection, use, disclosure, retention, disposal and protection of information. ISAs They help ensure compliance with the Privacy Act, Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat policy instruments, and departmental requirements, while supporting the effective administration of justice, legal services, and departmental programs and operations.
