Youth of Today Society (YOTS) has entered into a funding agreement with the Department of Justice Canada to deliver a project entitled, "YOTS, building bridges between Aboriginal elders, youth and the community project."
The Recipient will provide youth an opportunity of interviewing Elders, whereby a collection of stories will be published in the form of text, photos and graphics. The compilations will cover a variety of topics, amongst justice related issues: reconciliation, healing journeys, traditional practices and stories and education. Through this project, participants will acquire a variety of employability skills: photography, video production, copywriting, report writing, marketing, design and publishing all while exploring traditional cultural practices, lessons and renewing a sense of cultural pride and resiliency. Approximately 10,000 publications will be disseminated across the Yukon Territory.
